ERC Plus

The ERC Scientific Council has completed the preparatory work for the ERC Plus Grants, which aims to support bold and transformative research ideas that go beyond existing ERC grants. The implementation of the program depends on the European Commission’s final decision on the ERC 2026 Work Programme, with the first call expected to open in May 2026 and close in September 2026. A limited number of projects are planned to be funded for up to €7 million over 7 years. The call is designed to be open to individual researchers at all career stages.

In this context, the webinar organized by the ERC will feature ERC President Maria Leptin and Head of the Scientific Management Department Philippe Cupers, who will provide detailed information on the planned scope, objectives, eligibility criteria, and evaluation process of the ERC Plus Program. The webinar will also cover the program’s place within the overall ERC funding structure and key points to consider when preparing applications.
